Arts Integration to Enhance Learning and Comprehension

Many school systems are beginning to incorporate STEM and other Arts Integration programs within their curricula.  The San Juan Unified School District is one example of how a middle school is changing the way students learn for the better.

Teaching through the Prism of Arts Integration gives an overall perspective of many educators who are convinced that arts integrated schools raise the overall achievement of students.

Some school districts in areas of low achieving students are realizing that there is a need to rethink how students are taught.  This video explains how the complex genre known as Hip Hop, has emerged from the geographic areas with some of the lowest achieving students.  Understanding the genius of Hip Hop will inform teachers how to tap into the creativity, energy, and problem solving that is inherent in this performing art.  The St. Paul High School for Recording Arts serves as a model for other schools.
